
Pune: A major security scare unfolded at DY Patil Engineering College in Akurdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, after the institution received an email claiming that a bomb had been planted within its premises.
The threatening email, which arrived on the college's official email account around 9:00 AM, triggered immediate action by law enforcement authorities.
Upon receiving the email, the college administration swiftly alerted the police. Responding to the threat, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, along with a canine squad and the crime branch, arrived at the college to conduct a thorough inspection.
As a precautionary measure, all students and staff members were evacuated from the college premises to ensure their safety. The bomb squad is meticulously scanning the entire college campus to verify the authenticity of the threat.
The email has caused anxiety among students, teachers, and parents. However, senior police inspector Nitin Fatangare has confirmed that no suspicious objects have been found so far.
