Pune: A court in Pune granted bail to Gaurav Ahuja, who was arrested for public indecency and urination at Shastri Nagar Chowk, Yerawada, while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
According to Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke, Gaurav Ahuja stopped his vehicle on the road and urinated in public. When locals objected, he allegedly made obscene gestures toward them. The incident took place on March 8, and a video recorded by eyewitnesses soon went viral on social media.
Following the incident, Yerawada Police registered a case against Ahuja and his friend Bhagyesh Prakash Oswal (22, resident of Market Yard) under various legal provisions, including:
Indecent behavior in a public place
Obstructing public movement
Liquor law violations
The court initially sent both accused to judicial custody. However, a week earlier, Oswal had been granted conditional bail.
With Ahuja’s bail now approved, both individuals are released from judicial custody, subject to the court’s conditions.
