Guinness World Record

Ayodhya earned two Guinness World Records during Deepotsav 2025, one for lighting a record-breaking 26,17,215 oil lamps and another for 2,128 priests and devotees performing the Maa Saryu Aarti simultaneously. Both records were officially verified through drone footage and certification.

The historic feat took place along the banks of the Saryu River, where the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department and District Administration orchestrated the grand celebration, marking the world's largest display of oil lamps and the largest group diya aarti ever performed.

Drone Show & Fireworks

An astonishing drone show was also presented at Ram Ki Paidi, captivating the audience at the grand event as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath watched with pride. While the impressive drone show was awe-inspiring, the fireworks illuminated the sky with a milky white brilliance, leaving the attendees amazed.

Light Show

This magnificent event highlighted the city's spiritual and cultural splendor on a historic level. A significant crowd assembled at Ram ki Paidi along the banks of the River Saryu in Ayodhya for this landmark occasion. A breathtaking laser and light display lit up the Ram ki Paidi, where it is believed that Lord Rama attained Nirvana on the Saryu River, as thousands of diyas and colorful lights signified the grand Deepotsav celebration.

Ayodhya Deepotsav through the years

Over the years, Ayodhya’s Deepotsav has grown in both scale and spirit, with each edition surpassing the last in devotion and the number of lamps lit. The ninth edition in 2025 set a new milestone with over 26.17 lakh diyas, symbolizing prosperity and celebration under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.

From 1.71 lakh lamps in 2017 to 25.12 lakh in 2024, the steady rise reflects Ayodhya’s cultural resurgence and the state government's role in turning the festival into a beacon of devotion, pride, and progress.
