The couple tied the knot on February 5, 2023, in Kalaj village of Phaltan, Satara district. The complainant stated that the first month of their marriage was smooth, but issues began to arise shortly afterward.
The wife alleged that Sankalp started coming home intoxicated, accusing her of inappropriate behavior, and claiming she was chatting with others. He reportedly criticized her household abilities and demanded that she shut her medical shop in Baramati and open one in Pune. She claimed that Sankalp assaulted her physically, verbally abused her, and pressured her for a divorce.
The mother-in-law, Shobha Gole, allegedly berated her for speaking up and demanded ten tolas of gold jewelry to fund the wedding of her daughter, Samiksha. The father-in-law, Aajabrao Gole, allegedly demanded ₹10 lakh from her parents to establish a medical shop in Pune, while subjecting her to physical and mental harassment, including depriving her of food.
The sisters-in-law, Samiksha and Dikshita, reportedly added to the verbal and mental abuse, threatening and intimidating the complainant regularly. The complaint also states that in February 2024, the in-laws forcibly took her jewelry and expelled her from the marital home. Left with no other option, the complainant sought refuge at her sister’s house in Baramati.
