Pune: The minimum temperature in Pune city and several areas of the district has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius, marking a return of cold weather after a brief pause.
The NDA Khadakwasla area recorded the lowest temperature at 8.8 degrees Celsius early on Saturday morning. Haveli, Malin, Daund, and Shivajinagar also experienced chilly conditions with minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Fluctuations Over the Past Week:
The unseasonal rainfall earlier in the month had caused a rise in temperatures, with the minimum reaching 21 degrees Celsius and the maximum exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. This rise temporarily disrupted the cold weather experienced earlier.
Over the last four days, with clearer skies and weather changes, the minimum temperature began to drop, reaching 11 degrees. In the last 24 hours, the temperature has further fallen by 2–3 degrees.
Weather Forecast:
According to the India Meteorological Department, the cold spell is expected to continue for the next two days. Clear skies and light morning fog are anticipated during this period. After December 15, the city’s minimum temperature is predicted to rise by 1–2 degrees, with cloudy skies expected in the afternoons.
