Pune: The Indian Postal Department has launched the Deen Dayal SPARSH (Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude & Research in Stamps as a Hobby) Scheme, aimed at encouraging philately among students from Classes VI to IX. This initiative offers a scholarship of ₹6,000 per year, paid quarterly at ₹500 per month.

The scheme seeks to reward students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate a passion for philately. Participants are required to collect, preserve, and research postage stamps as part of their hobby. The scholarship also recognizes students who present creative projects showcasing their stamp collections.
