Pune: In a move to recognize and encourage excellence among small entrepreneurs, the Maharashtra State Government has announced the District Awards 2023 and District Awards 2024.

Eligible small-scale enterprises in Pune district that have demonstrated remarkable performance in the industrial sector can apply for the awards by 31st December 2024, as per the announcement from the District Industries Centre.

The award scheme offers a cash prize of ₹15,000 and a trophy for the first place, and ₹10,000 and a trophy for the second place. The selection process will be carried out based on criteria prescribed by the government.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Enterprises must be registered with the Directorate of Industries under Part II, Udyog Aadhaar, or Udyam Registration.

  • Registration should have been completed before 1st January 2020, with the enterprise consistently engaged in production for the past two years.

  • Applicants should not have any outstanding dues with banks or financial institutions.

Efforts to Promote Exports

To further boost industrial growth, the government is focusing on increasing exports. The District Industries Centre recently conducted a direct interaction program with entrepreneurs in the Chakan Industrial Area, highlighting state-sponsored export promotion schemes.

As part of this initiative, a workshop titled "Maharashtra Export Convention 2024-25" was organized at Gabriel India Company, Chakan. The event witnessed participation from industry leaders, government officials, and representatives from export-related organizations. Key attendees included:

  • Shailesh Rajput (Deputy Director of Industries)

  • Mittal Hiremuth (Joint Development Commissioner)

  • Sandeep Batwal (Indian Postal Department)

  • Rishi Mishra (Federation of Indian Export Organisations)

  • Sunita Sawant (APEDA)

  • Pratapsingh Bhadra (Engineering Export Promotion Council)

The workshop focused on providing entrepreneurs with insights into government incentives, export-related opportunities, and strategies to enhance their global market presence.
