Pune: A shocking incident unfolded last week when a man allegedly beat up his wife’s cousin and pushed him into a quarry after taking him to the Katraj hilltop. The police have filed an attempted murder case against the husband in this matter.
The complaint was filed by 21-year-old Ajay Anil Pashwane, a resident of Sathe Chowk, Lohgaon, naming Shekhar Kamble, Lakhan Kamble, and Amol as the accused. Ambegaon police are currently investigating the case and searching for the suspects.
The incident stems from ongoing marital disputes. According to police reports, Shekhar, the husband, frequently engaged in arguments and assaults against his wife. Seeking refuge, the wife asked her cousin Ajay to take her to her mother's home.
Ajay, upon arriving at her house, discovered that Shekhar had already invited his friends. The group then attacked Ajay, taking him to the Katraj hilltop, where they used bamboo sticks and stones to beat him. The attack left Ajay with broken teeth and both arms fractured. While trying to flee, Ajay was shoved, falling into a quarry, resulting in a fractured spine and further injuries.
The investigation is being conducted under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine, with Woman Police Sub-Inspector Koli handling the case.
