
Pune: The 19th ISAMPE National Conference on Composites (INCCOM-19), themed “Innovative Technologies in Composites,” will take place at Four Points Sheraton, Pune, on January 30-31, 2025.
The event is jointly organized by the Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE) Pune Chapter and the Research and Development Establishment (Engineers) [R&DE(Engrs)], a laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
The conference will be inaugurated by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of DRDO and DD(R&D), in the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Prof. Prateek Kishore, DG ACE Cluster, Dr. Makarand Joshi, Director of R&DE(Engrs), and Dr. A. Rajarajan, Director of the Satish Dhawan Space Center and President of ISAMPE.

R&DE(Engrs), a key organizer of the event, is renowned for its contributions to combat engineering and defence technologies. The laboratory has spearheaded India's advancements in composite technology, developing products such as Stealth Radomes, Sonar Domes, Composite Military Bridges, and Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs).
It has also pioneered indigenous techniques like Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) and Resin Film Infusion (RFI) for cost-effective, high-performance composite fabrication with structural health monitoring capabilities.
The conference aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, industry professionals, and academic experts, driving innovations in composite materials and applications.
