The Railways Ministry has introduced a new beta version of the IRCTC website to simplify and enhance the user-friendliness of train ticket booking. Last month, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) would roll out a revamped and upgraded website by July 15, in response to complaints from students who reported difficulties and delays in booking their tickets.
Officials stated that the website has been available to users since 9 p.m. on Wednesday (July 15). They also encouraged users to share feedback and suggestions regarding the streamlined features.
What are the new features in the beta website?
According to a statement released by the union ministry of railways, the IRCTC has made four major improvements in the beta version.
• No captcha, ‘distracting elements’: The new website will not include unnecessary CAPTCHAs or other distracting features. “No unnecessary CAPTCHAs. No unnecessary pop-ups. No flashing graphics. No distracting elements,” the ministry stated in a press release.
• Seat availability: Users will be able to view seat availability in all classes, giving them a more convenient way to check train tickets.
• Faster checkout: The new app streamlines the train ticket booking process by cutting down the number of steps required, resulting in a quicker checkout experience for passengers.
• Easier repeat booking: Once a user completes a booking, their passenger information will be stored, making it more convenient for them to make repeat bookings.
