Kasba Peth: Businessman Attacked with Sharp Weapon Over Parking Dispute

Pune: A shocking incident occurred near the Kasba Ganpati temple in Pune when a minor argument over parking escalated into violence. A 45-year-old businessman, Yogesh Gopalji Thakkar, was attacked with a sharp weapon and assaulted by two individuals.

The incident took place on Sunday (January 26) evening when Thakkar, a resident of Bhawani Peth, was passing by the Kasba Ganpati temple on his two-wheeler. He was looking for a spot to park his vehicle when two individuals on another two-wheeler confronted him.

The duo verbally abused him and, when Thakkar asked them to drive properly, the argument turned physical. The attackers assaulted Thakkar with punches and kicks, and one of them stabbed him in the back with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.

Upon being informed of the incident, Police Inspector (Crime) Ajit Jadhav visited the location and initiated an investigation. The police reviewed CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers.

Faraskhana police have registered a case based on Thakkar’s complaint, and efforts to trace the accused are ongoing. Sub-Inspector Chandrakant Jawalgi is leading the investigation into the matter.
