After the 2026 Grammy nominations were revealed on Nov. 7, social media erupted with reactions from fans and artists. Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar lead the pack, with Lamar earning nine nods for GNX and Gaga seven for Mayhem. For the first time, two K-pop songs—Rosé and Bruno Mars’ APT and Huntr/x’s Golden—are up for Song of the Year.
Lamar, favored to win after last year’s success, could make history with the first rap Album of the Year since Outkast in 2004. He faces Tyler, The Creator (Chromakopia), Clipse (Let God Sort ’Em Out), and Bad Bunny (Debí Tirar Más Fotos), marking the first time three rap albums compete for the top prize. Bad Bunny’s record is also just the second all-Spanish album ever nominated.

The 2026 GRAMMY Awards are scheduled for Sunday, February 1, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Blackpink’s Rosé became the first K-pop idol shortlisted for a Grammy “Big Four” award. Her hit APT—which samples Toni Basil’s Mickey—is also up for Best Pop Duo, while co-writer Amy Allen earned a Songwriter of the Year nod. Animated group Huntr/x made history with a main-category nomination.
Sabrina Carpenter scored six nods, including Album, Pop Album, and Song of the Year for Manchild. Alex Warren is up for Best New Artist, Timothée Chalamet for Best Compilation Soundtrack, and the Dalai Lama competes with Milli Vanilli’s Fab Morvan for Best Audiobook.

Nearly 23,000 entries were submitted for the 2026 Grammys. Song of the Year led with 1,015 entries, while Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media had just 48. After screening, about 15,000 voting members will choose the nominees. Final voting runs from December 12 to January 5, with winners announced in Los Angeles on February 1, 2026.
