Pune: Maharashtra has developed India’s most advanced cybercrime platform to enhance police investigations using technology, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced at an event in Pune. Additionally, a dedicated toll-free number ‘1945’ has been made available by central agencies for Maharashtra Police to handle cybercrime complaints.

The announcement was made during the ‘Tarang’ event, organized by Pune Police, where several senior leaders and officers were present. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Urban Development Minister Madhuri Misal, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, and other senior officials attended the event.

The event featured a musical concert by renowned composer duo Ajay-Atul, who delighted the audience with their performances. Police officers and their families enjoyed the event, which also served as a platform to recognize and appreciate police personnel for their exemplary service.

Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar felicitated outstanding police officers for their exceptional performance over the past year. Additionally, Fadnavis inaugurated the Pune Police’s ‘COP 24’ initiative, aimed at enhancing law enforcement capabilities.

Highlighting the government's commitment to police welfare, Fadnavis assured that modern offices, technology, vehicles, and CCTV surveillance systems have been provided to support the police force. Efforts are also underway to address health and housing needs for police personnel and their families.

Fadnavis emphasized that a better living environment would enhance police efficiency, enabling them to work more effectively. He also noted that Pune has seen several major incidents in recent years, and the police have demonstrated excellent investigative skills in solving them.

In a symbolic gesture, gold stolen from a jeweler’s shop was returned to its rightful owner during the event. Referring to the incident, Pawar remarked, “Once stolen gold has been recovered and returned. Moving forward, everyone should take precautions to prevent theft.”
