Pune: A disturbing incident of public indecency occurred at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), when an unidentified man allegedly engaged in an obscene act in front of female students on campus.
The university administration has formally lodged a police complaint against the accused. The incident took place around 9:15 PM, when three female students were walking back to their hostel after dinner at a nearby dining facility.
As they were heading towards their residence, a man suddenly appeared on the road and attempted to perform an indecent act in front of them. Alarmed by the situation, the students immediately approached the university’s security guards and reported the incident.
Upon receiving the complaint, the university administration promptly filed an official complaint at the police station, urging strict action against the offender.
The administration has also stated that it will take disciplinary action against any university staff members found guilty of negligence or misconduct in handling campus security.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter, and police have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused.
