
Pune: In a tragic accident on Saturday evening (January 18), two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision on Mandhardevi Road near Nilkanth village. The accident occurred around 4:30 PM, claiming the lives of Chandrakant Laxman Jawale (60, resident of Nira, Purandar Taluka) and Uttam Gaikwad (45, resident of Nilkanth).
According to the Bhor Police, Chandrakant Jawale and Uttam Gaikwad were riding a motorcycle (MH-12 TG-0946) towards Nilkanth village when they collided with another motorcycle (MH-12 WC-2720) coming from the opposite direction. The collision caused both riders to fall onto the road, sustaining severe head injuries.
Chandrakant Jawale was pronounced dead at the scene, while Uttam Gaikwad was rushed to the Bhor Sub-District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The rider of the other motorcycle was also injured and left the scene for medical assistance.
Upon being informed about the accident, police personnel from the Bhor Police Station quickly reached the location. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Following a complaint lodged by Vaibhav Ananda Gaikwad, the police have registered a case against an unknown motorcyclist and initiated further investigation into the incident.
