On Wednesday, opposition MPs held a protest march within the Parliament House complex demand slew of responses from the government.
The major opposition demands includes statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on alleged police brutality against students, a debate on the purported misuse of Ram temple donations, and the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
Holding placards and chanting anti-government slogans, Opposition MPs including Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and INDIA alliance members marched from the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Prerna Sthal to Makar Dwar.
Criticising Shah, Kharge questioned why he has not been attending the House.
“They are disrespecting Parliament. It has been so many days but they don’t want to step inside the House. What is the issue in coming to the House and giving a statement?” Kharge told reporters.
Are they deaf and dumb, he asked.
The MPs held placards criticizing the government and called for Shah to make a statement in both Houses of Parliament regarding the alleged “atrocities” committed by the police and other security forces against students during last month’s protests over the paper leak issue.
Several MPs also raised concerns about the alleged misuse of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya..
MPs from Jammu and Kashmir, carried placards, demanding statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
Wednesday marks the seventh anniversary of the revocation of Article 370 and the conversion of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory.
The MPs also placed donation boxes at the foot of the Makar Dwar steps to symbolise the alleged misappropriation of offerings at the Ram temple, and stood around them while chanting slogans against the government.
Some MPs put cash into the boxes to represent the donations that were made and the subsequent “theft” that allegedly occurred.

However, these bills were rushed through amid loud opposition uproar rather than being subjected to regular, orderly parliamentary debate.
The INDIA bloc has pledged to target the government over allegations of misappropriating donations meant for the Ram temple and for deploying “brutal force” against students during Jantar Mantar protest.
