NEP Sarathi: UGC Appoints 84 Maharashtra Students as NEP Ambassadors
Pune: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a new initiative titled "NEP Sarathi – Student Ambassadors of Educational Transformation in India’s Higher Education" to ensure the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).
The initiative aims to involve students in higher education reforms and raise awareness about the NEP’s objectives and implementation. As part of this initiative, over 700 students from various higher education institutions across India have been selected. Among them, 84 students are from 17 institutions in Maharashtra.
The chosen students, spanning undergraduate to Ph.D. levels, will act as NEP Sarathi representatives, fostering awareness and participation among the student community.
The program aims to create a network of proactive student ambassadors who will collaborate with their peers and assist in the implementation of the NEP’s goals. UGC had called for nominations from higher education institutions nationwide, seeking candidates with exceptional personality traits, communication skills, responsibility, and leadership qualities.
The selected institutions in Maharashtra include notable names such as COEP Technological University, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, MIT ADT University, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute of Information Technology, and G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, among others.
These student ambassadors will play a crucial role in driving awareness and support for NEP reforms at their respective institutions.
