Pune, 20 June 2025: Despite facing severe financial hardships and lack of facilities, several students from underprivileged families in Pune have succeeded in clearing the challenging NEET exam. Their journey has been fuelled by sheer hard work, unwavering perseverance and a burning dream to serve society as doctors.
An NGO named ‘Lift for Upliftment’ (LFU) provided free guidance and coaching for these students, helping them prepare for the demanding entrance exam. Many students associated with LFU have passed NEET with commendable scores, setting an inspiring example for others in similar circumstances.
Siddhesh, the son of Rupali Dhapte, a PMT bus conductor and single parent, scored 504 out of 720 marks. Sharing his journey, he said, “I want to become a helpful doctor to serve society. Last year too, I appeared for NEET but could not score well. This year I worked harder and secured 504 marks.”
Another student, Aditi Jadhav, scored 432 marks. She shared, “In April 2023, my grandfather suffered a heart attack and passed away because we could not take him to the hospital on time. This tragedy motivated me to become a doctor. I studied for eight hours on my own and four hours daily at LFU.”
Similarly, Poonam, daughter of a tempo driver, scored 411 marks, while Nainakumari Sav, whose father sells clothes, scored 502 marks. Nainakumari said, “There are no doctors in our village, and many people suffer without treatment. I want to change this situation by becoming a doctor.”
