Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced plans to invest ₹2,000 crore in the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center (PIECC) at Moshi.
Spanning 96 hectares, the project will feature a state-of-the-art convention hall, a five-star hotel, affordable accommodations, conference facilities, and commercial plots. This ambitious plan is expected to generate approximately 1,00,000 job opportunities over the next decade.
The Moshi Exhibition Center has previously hosted international agricultural expos and defense weapon exhibitions, among other prominent events. However, only 10% of the planned facilities have been developed so far.
The PMRDA, under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, will now accelerate the completion of the remaining projects, which include:
A 5,000-seat convention hall.
Three conference halls covering 35,000 square meters.
A five-star hotel and three budget hotels.
Commercial plots for business development.
This initiative will be executed in phases under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and is expected to enhance the economic and social profile of the region significantly.
