Pune, 24 July 2025: Superintendent Engineer Santosh Tandle has been transferred from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Sewerage Department to the Water Supply Department. The decision was taken after Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram expressed dissatisfaction over Tandle’s continued negligence in addressing citizen complaints and failing to keep higher authorities informed.
Over the past few weeks, Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram has been reviewing various departments and issuing directives for improvement. The Sewerage Department, under Tandle’s supervision, received several public complaints, particularly from Zones 3, 4, and 5. Despite earlier warnings from the Commissioner, the department showed no significant improvement, and Tandle failed to provide satisfactory responses.
Tandle was specifically responsible for maintenance and repair works in his designated zones. The lack of timely action and poor grievance redressal led to citizens being directly affected. According to sources, even after reminders from the Commissioner, Tandle continued to overlook critical issues, prompting immediate administrative action.
This is not the first time Tandle has faced such action. In 2023, former PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar had transferred him from the department for failing to provide information regarding water hyacinth removal, despite multiple meeting reminders. His response to the official notice then had also been unsatisfactory, leading to his transfer. However, he was reinstated in the same department after some time.
Tandle has now been assigned to the Water Supply Department. When contacted for a comment regarding his transfer, he did not respond.
