Pune: In a significant move towards infrastructure development, a budget of ₹1,428 crore has been approved for the Shirur-Haveli constituency following discussions in the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) general meeting. MLA Mauli Katke, who raised key regional concerns during the session, confirmed the development.
Speaking about the approval, MLA Katke said, “We had submitted proposals through Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to improve state and district roads, along with other major roads in the constituency.
The PMRDA meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, discussed these proposals in detail. The main priorities include decongesting the Pune-Ahilyanagar Highway and addressing the traffic issues on the Pune-Solapur Highway, particularly from Uruli Kanchan to Hadapsar, by removing encroachments and cracking down on illegal constructions.”
Infrastructure Boost for Shirur Region
The development fund will be utilized for critical infrastructure projects across Shirur, including:
Fire & Disaster Management Center in Shikrapur: To enhance emergency response capabilities.
Road Upgrades: New and improved roads from Sanaswadi to Pimple Jagtap, Pimple Jagtap to Karandi Phata, Aapti to Sanaswadi-Talegaon Dhamdhere, and multiple other road stretches across the region.
Industrial Connectivity: Road enhancements in the Ranjangaon Industrial Area to facilitate smoother transportation.
Palkhi Route Development: Strengthening and asphalt work on the Ranjangaon Mahaganpati Dwarayatra route for smoother pilgrim movement.
Haveli Region to Benefit from Major Roadworks and a New Bridge
The Haveli region will also see major infrastructure improvements, including:
Strategic Road Developments: Upgrading key roadways from Lonikand (Surabhi Hotel) to Bhawadi-Lohgaon, Tulapur-Bhawadi to Wagheshwar Temple, and Avhalwadi Phata to Manjari Khurd River.
Enhanced Regional Connectivity: Road expansions and upgrades for Theur-Taramala Peth, Uruli Kanchan-Khamgaon Tek-Hingangaon-Shindewadi.
New Bridge Construction: A major bridge over the Mula-Mutha River at Hingangaon to improve transport connectivity.
