Stand-up comedian Pranit More has once again become a focal point of online discussion after an old video featuring emerging cricket talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi began circulating widely on social media. The reemergence of the clip is drawing renewed scrutiny at a moment when More is already under fire due to the much-talked-about Rs 370 biryani controversy.
The renewed scrutiny of his earlier content follows reports that the Maharashtra Cyber Department has filed a case against More, along with Himanshu Jangra, Dr. Sejal Pawar, and others, over accusations of sharing objectionable and obscene material online.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s presence on Pranit More’s show attracts attention
One of the clips currently circulating online shows rising batting star Vaibhav Suryavanshi appearing as a guest on More’s show. During their discussion, More mentioned that the cricketer follows him on social media and had previously expressed a desire to come on the show ahead of a World Cup final.
During his interaction with Vaibhav, More quipped, “You lecture Pakistani cricketers on the field; don’t try to lecture me now.” The comment drew laughter from the audience, although the young batter seemed a bit uneasy as the crowd responded.
Jokes about cricket and Babar Azam spark reactions
Throughout the segment, More lauded Vaibhav’s Under-19 performances and emphasized his fearless style of batting. Commenting on the youngster’s success, he declared, “Ek Bihari Sab Pe Bhari,” which drew loud applause from the audience. The comedian also mentioned Vaibhav’s link with the health drink brand Complan before shifting the conversation to Pakistan captain Babar Azam. More quipped that while drinking Complan might have helped Babar grow taller, it "failed to improve his strike rate." The punchline was met with applause from the audience during the live show.
Social media users share mixed opinions
As the video circulated online, social media users swiftly shared their opinions. Some supported Vaibhav and encouraged him to concentrate on cricket, while others took issue with More’s comedic approach.“Vaibhav bhai, please focus on cricket only. These comics come and go," one user wrote.
Another person remarked, “Keep Vaibhav away from Pranit and Shehbaaz. I’ve seen him spending time with Shehbaaz too. They are like vultures, parasites who live off successful people and drain them dry. Make him understand the mistakes made by Shaw and Chahal.”
Questioning the comedian’s popularity, another user posted, “Who’s actually finding the laughs in his show, bro?"
“Who listens to Pranit’s jokes in big 2026. He is tr@sh," another social media user remarked.
Rs 370 Biryani incident continues to haunt the comedian
The reemergence of the video comes as More continues to face backlash over a separate controversy stemming from remarks he made during one of his stand-up shows.
In the viral Rs 370 biryani clip, an audience member recounted a dating experience involving a chicken biryani worth approximately Rs 370. The conversation later shifted toward remarks that many viewers considered disrespectful toward women, with More seen laughing during the exchange.
In response to the backlash, More issued a public apology, conceding that he did not manage the situation properly. He admitted that he ought to have stepped in and halted the discussion instead of permitting it to carry on.
