Pune, 4th December 2024: In response to the ongoing "illegal operations" of online cab service companies like Ola and Uber, despite the cancellation of their licenses by the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO), cab drivers are planning to protest at Aeromall on December 11.

The protest will highlight the continuing illegal business at Aeromall, which has a contract with the Airport Authority of India.

Dr. Keshav Kshirsagar from the Indian Gig Workers Forum stated that after the protest, cab drivers will begin providing direct services to passengers.

Despite the RTO's decision to cancel the licenses of online companies, these services continue without regulation. Passengers have been facing inflated fare charges as a result.

Furthermore, the companies are profiting significantly while failing to provide appropriate compensation to the drivers, leading to financial exploitation of both drivers and passengers.
