Pune, 2nd September 2025: An army personnel was allegedly assaulted by a group of bikers in Yerawada during the early hours of Saturday, August 30. The incident occurred around 3 am when the soldier asked them to slow down their speeding motorcycles.

According to Yerawada police, the 32-year-old soldier and his colleague were passing through the area when the gang sped past them. On being advised to ride carefully, the bikers argued, pushed the soldier, and attempted to snatch his silver chain and phone. They also threatened to kill him.

The scuffle broke out close to the Jail Road Police Chowki. On receiving information, two police officers rushed to the spot but were also pushed and manhandled by the group.

Yerawada police later arrested five accused in the case. They have been identified as Dnyaneshwar Sundar Natkale (26), Rahul Sanjay Salve (23), Rohit Ashok Dongre (27) of Bhimanagar, Harshal Bhosale (25) of Tingrenagar, and Siddhi Kamble (24) of Sapras, Yerawada.

Following the soldier’s complaint, the accused were booked for assault, issuing threats, and obstructing government duty. Assistant Police Inspector Vishal Takle is leading the investigation.
