Pune, 16 August 2025: Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of senior NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Eknath Khadse, is facing fresh trouble after a woman filed a complaint at the cyber police station. The woman alleged that between 2022 and June 2025, Khewalkar called her to different hotels, photographed her in compromising conditions, and posed a threat of misuse of these images.
Based on her statement, police registered a case under IPC Section 77 and Section 66(E) of the Information Technology Act.
The investigation comes soon after the July 25 raid at a hotel in Kharadi, Pune, where Khewalkar and six others were arrested during a party. Police had seized cocaine, cannabis, hookah equipment, liquor bottles, mobile phones, and cars.
The accused were remanded to judicial custody in Yerawada jail. Officers informed the court that the group had held similar parties earlier in April and May, with photos and videos recovered from seized mobile phones.
Meanwhile, a local organisation had submitted a complaint against Khewalkar to the State Women’s Commission, demanding an in-depth inquiry into his alleged misconduct at parties. Acting on this, the commission recently directed the Pune Police Commissioner to conduct a thorough probe.
During the ongoing investigation, police revealed that objectionable photos and videos involving Khewalkar and multiple women were found hidden on his mobile phone. Records also show that he stayed at the same hotel in Pune for 43 days over the last year and a half, often with different companions.
