
Pune, 16 August 2025: Pune district witnessed a shocking crime in Daund on the night of August 14, when a minor boy attacked and killed 35-year-old Pravin Dattatray Pawar near Indiranagar, close to the town market.
According to police, Pawar was in a relationship with the boy’s mother, which had led to repeated clashes between the two. Despite several warnings, Pawar continued to visit her, causing growing resentment in the teenager.
On Tuesday night, Pawar came to Indiranagar, where a heated argument broke out. In a fit of rage, the boy struck Pawar multiple times with a sickle on his head, face, hands, and body, killing him on the spot.
After the incident, the boy started walking towards the Daund police station to surrender. However, officers intercepted him midway and took him into custody.
Investigations revealed that Pawar had links to illegal gambling activities, including matka and card games. The Daund police have registered a case of murder against the minor and are conducting further inquiries.
