Pune: A diamond trader from Bibwewadi has been abducted for a ransom of ₹2 crore, sparking a high-level investigation by the Pune Police. Despite multiple interrogations, his whereabouts remain unknown. The trader’s wife filed a complaint at Bibwewadi Police Station, and the police have registered an official case against unidentified persons.

According to the police, the businessman left his home on Monday (March 3) evening, informing his wife that he had some work. At around 6 PM, an unknown person called the wife using the trader’s phone and demanded ₹2 crore in ransom, threatening to kill him if the amount was not paid. Shocked by the call, she immediately alerted the police control room.

Following the complaint, senior police officers, including Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, DCP Rajkumar Shinde, DCP (Crime Branch) Nikhil Pingle, and DCP (Economic Offenses Wing) Vivek Masal, reached the location to initiate a full-scale investigation.
