Pune, 28 July 2025: Due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas, the Irrigation Department has increased the discharge from Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River. As of 1:00 PM on July 28, the release has been raised from 22,121 cusecs to 25,696 cusecs.

Officials stated that this step was necessary because of the rising water levels in the dam caused by ongoing rain. They also noted that the discharge may be revised further depending on how much more rain falls and how much water continues to flow into the dam.
