
Pune, 6th June 2025: Due to the large-scale encroachment on the famous Fergusson College Road (Gopalkrishna Gokhale Road) in the city, the Municipal Corporation has once again taken a major action yesterday and demolished structures and sheds covering about 12,500 square feet.
Despite repeated action, the fear of the Municipal Corporation has diminished as businessmen are daring to encroach despite repeated action.
While there is traffic congestion on Fergusson College Road, a large number of sheds are being erected in the pedestrian walkways, in front of buildings and on the sides. In the evening, there is not even space left to walk here.
The Encroachment and Construction Department of the Municipal Corporation had earlier taken action, even on famous hotels actions were taken. But from the next day, encroachments have occurred again. After receiving a complaint in this regard, the Municipal Corporation took action again yesterday.
A bulldozer was driven on unauthorized shops at Plot No. 614 B on Gokhale Road, in this operation, encroachments on an area of 12,500 square feet were removed. Superintendent Engineer Rajesh Bankar of the Construction Department, Executive Engineer Surendra Karpem, Deputy Engineer Ranjit Mutkule, Kiran Kalshetty, Junior Engineer Mahesh Shinde, Manoj Kumar Mate, Sagar Shinde etc. were present.
