Pune: The Pune Railway Division has made changes to the travel schedules of 64 trains, reducing their extra buffer time within certain railway sections. This move, aimed at improving punctuality, has led to time savings of 10 to 15 minutes per journey for many passengers.

The majority of these adjustments have been made to trains operating on the Pune-Manmad section. The decision to reduce "loose margin" time ensures that passengers reach their destinations faster. The railway administration is also working on further operational improvements to enhance the punctuality of trains.

How Do These Changes Affect Train Timings?
Pune Railway Station handles approximately 150 trains daily, with a mix of originating and passing-through services. Out of these, 64 trains had been given extra buffer time within different sections of the Pune railway division. While this time was allotted for managing delays, it often prolonged travel durations unnecessarily.
