This year, Pune recorded above-average rainfall, causing widespread damage to crops and property across the state. Pune’s Shivajinagar area alone received 849.3 mm of rain between June 1 and September 30. Data from the IMD shows that September received more rainfall than the combined totals of July and August, highlighting the extreme nature of this monsoon season.

Day-by-day rainfall variations in Pune further reflect the unusual pattern of heavy showers this year, making it one of the most intense monsoon seasons in recent years.
