Pune, 27 August 2025: A road rage incident in Khadki turned violent on Monday evening, leaving an investment banking employee with a fractured nose and his friend with a dislocated shoulder. Police later arrested four men in connection with the assault.
The clash occurred around 5:45 pm near a gurdwara on Elphinstone Road. Victim Satyam Sukhsagar Bhargav, who was driving back to his Kharadi home from Nashik, said two men on a bike rode against traffic and cut across his car. He told them to follow the correct lane and moved ahead.
Minutes later, the same men returned, banged on his car, and began assaulting him. They soon called two more friends who joined in the attack. Bhargav’s friend Mahesh tried to step in but was injured in the scuffle.
Passers alerted the police, and two officers arrived, forcing the attackers to flee. Both victims were first treated at Khadki Cantonment Hospital before being shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri, where doctors advised surgery for Bhargav’s nose injury.
Based on the complaint, Khadki police filed a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of grievous hurt, wrongful restraint, and intentional insult. Investigators tracked the attackers using bike registration details and arrested all four accused by Tuesday evening.
