
Pune: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a special Bharat Gaurav train to facilitate travel from Pune to Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh. Scheduled to depart from Pune Railway Station on January 15 at 10 PM, this train aims to provide a safe and comfortable journey for devotees.
This initiative is part of the central government’s “Dekho Apna Desh” scheme, under which 86 Bharat Gaurav trains have been launched across the country to promote domestic tourism. These trains have enabled countless travelers to explore India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
To share details about this service, a press conference was organized at Pune Railway Station, attended by Regional Manager of Pune Division Gururaj Sona and IRCTC’s Tourism Manager Subhash Nair.
Nair stated, “We have planned a special train for Kumbh Mela from Pune. Passengers will be provided with comprehensive facilities, including security personnel, CCTV surveillance, and onboard meal arrangements. Additionally, accommodation in a tent city has been arranged at the Kumbh Mela site, ensuring a convenient stay for travelers.”
Journey Highlights
The train will follow the route Pune - Varanasi - Prayagraj - Ayodhya - Pune, covering seven nights and eight days. The coaches will include:
7 Sleeper Class Coaches
3 Third AC Coaches
1 Second AC Coach
1 Pantry Car
