Pune, 11 August 2025: Pune’s central areas will see significant traffic changes on Tuesday, August 12, for Angaraki Chaturthi. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road will be closed, and vehicles heading towards Swargate or Shivajinagar will need to follow alternative routes.
The diversions have been planned to manage the large number of devotees expected at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple. Police have requested all motorists to cooperate and use the designated alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Vehicles from Tilak Road via Puram Chowk towards Shivajinagar should proceed through Alka Talkies and Deccan Gymkhana. Those heading to Swargate from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road should use S.G. Barve Chowk (Modern Café), Jungli Maharaj Road, Jhansi Rani Chowk, Khandojibaba Chowk, and Tilak Road. The route from Appa Balwant Chowk to Hutatma Chowk (Budhwar Chowk) will also be closed.
Police have urged commuters to plan their travel in advance to avoid delays during the festive rush.
