
Pune: In view of Ramzan Eid celebrations, the Eidgah Ground at Golibar Maidan Chowk will host community Eid prayers on Monday, March 31.
With a large congregation expected, the traffic department has announced diversions and route changes in the area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion near the prayer site.
Traffic Restrictions and Diversions
Traffic on the Bhairobanala Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk stretch (Solapur Road) will be closed during prayer hours from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Heavy vehicles heading towards Swargate via Solapur Road will be rerouted via Prince of Wales Road and Lullanagar.
Heavy vehicles will not be permitted towards Pune Station or city areas during this period.
Light vehicles will be redirected through Empress Garden.
Vehicles coming from Swargate towards Golibar Maidan will be diverted via Seven Loves Chowk (Dhole Patil Chowk), Salisbury Park, and Khatav Bungalow towards Lullanagar or Solapur Road.
Traffic between Solapur Bazaar Chowki and Golibar Maidan Chowk will remain restricted.
Alternative Routes for Motorists
Motorists traveling within the Pune Cantonment area are advised to use routes via Khane Maruti Chowk, Poolgate Bus Station, Solapur Bazaar Chowk, Napier Road, and Khatav Bungalow Chowk.
Additionally, traffic movement from Lullanagar Chowk towards Golibar Maidan Chowk will be restricted.
Eid prayers will also take place at various Eidgah grounds across Pune, and similar traffic arrangements will be enforced in those areas. Traffic police have urged motorists to follow the diversions and use alternate routes to ensure smooth traffic movement.
