Pune: The Bhavani Peth Ward Office is facing criticism after a road in Raviwar Peth was covered despite ongoing water leakage, leading to thousands of liters of water wastage and prolonged water supply disruption. The incident has raised concerns about the functioning of the civic administration.

A sewage pipeline installation project has been ongoing behind the Bandivan Maruti Temple in Raviwar Peth. However, water pipelines have been frequently bursting during the work, leading to water supply disruptions for 10 to 15 days. The lack of coordination between the contractor and the ward office officials has further worsened the situation.

Massive Water Wastage Due to Leakages

During the repair work, leakage was found at multiple locations, confirming that thousands of liters of water had been wasted over several days. Following this, the leakages were fixed, but the incident has highlighted inefficiencies in the civic administration’s handling of infrastructure projects.

Residents expressed frustration over the prolonged water supply disruption:

Ganesh Gunjal, Local Resident: “The water supply was severely affected for over 10 days due to the leakages, leading to significant water wastage. Finally, the authorities visited the site and carried out repair work."

Rashmi Taware and Suchita Honrao, Residents: “The water supply is still not fully restored, but the officials have now taken up repair work, and we hope the issue will be resolved soon.”
