Pune: The controversy surrounding a Rolls-Royce car linked to Prashant Koratkar, who was arrested for making derogatory remarks about great personalities, has taken a new turn. A viral social media photo showing Koratkar posing with the luxury vehicle had sparked speculation regarding its ownership and his connection to it. After an investigation, it has been confirmed that the car belongs to Pune-based real estate businessman Tushar Kalate.
Tushar Kalate is a well-known real estate developer from Tathawade in Pimpri-Chinchwad. His family has a strong political and financial background. His father, Atmaram Kalate, served as a director of the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank for 25 years and was also its former chairman.
Tushar Kalate had also entered politics, contesting the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections as an independent candidate from the Bhor-Mulshi constituency. He previously made headlines for purchasing a helicopter, further adding to his reputation as a high-profile businessman.
Amid rising speculation, Tushar Kalate issued a statement explaining the purchase of the Rolls-Royce. He stated that he acquired the vehicle legally through a bank auction and made the payment entirely through white money. Addressing the viral photo of Prashant Koratkar with the car, Kalate mentioned that Koratkar had visited him along with a friend. During the visit, Koratkar expressed a desire to take a photo with the Rolls-Royce, to which Kalate agreed, asserting that there was nothing inappropriate in the situation.
The CID conducted an inquiry into the car’s ownership and was provided with all relevant documents by Kalate. However, questions remain regarding certain aspects of the transaction. Authorities are now investigating whether any irregularities were involved in the car’s transfer.
The case took a dramatic turn when a video surfaced online featuring Prashant Koratkar, Tushar Kalate, and Manohar Bhosale together. Manohar Bhosale is a controversial figure facing multiple allegations, including fraud through occult practices and sexual exploitation. The presence of these three individuals in the same video has fueled speculation about their possible connection. Investigators are now working to determine the exact nature of their relationship.
How Did the Rolls-Royce Change Hands?
Reports suggest that the Rolls-Royce originally belonged to Mahesh Motewar, the owner of Samruddha Jeevan company, and was supposed to be auctioned. However, it is alleged that certain officials facilitated the car’s sale to another individual instead. Authorities are investigating whether Prashant Koratkar ultimately gained access to the car through these connections.
Following Koratkar’s arrest by Kolhapur police, he was questioned regarding the car’s ownership. However, he refused to disclose any details. With fresh evidence emerging, law enforcement agencies are now focusing on Kalate’s role in the matter. The police are also closely examining any potential links between Koratkar, Kalate, and Bhosale.
