SPPU to Restrict Admissions for Colleges Failing NAAC Updates by January 15

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has issued a stern warning to affiliated colleges and recognized educational institutions that fail to update their NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation details on the university’s official website.

Institutions that do not comply by January 15, 2025, risk restrictions on first-year admissions to all professional and non-professional courses for the academic year 2025-26.

University Circular Highlights

The Academic Affiliation Section of SPPU released a circular underlining the importance of the NAAC accreditation process. The university is preparing for its upcoming NAAC evaluation and has directed all affiliated institutions to update their profiles on the university’s website under the "College Profile" section.

The circular specifies that failure to comply with these instructions will result in serious consequences. First-year admissions for all professional and non-professional courses approved for the academic year 2025-26 will be restricted for non-compliant colleges and institutions.

Instructions for Institutions

Colleges and recognized institutions have been reminded to complete their NAAC accreditation, re-accreditation, or ranking processes. Additionally, those at the preliminary stage of the accreditation process must register with the NAAC office and update their status on the university’s portal. The deadline for completing these updates is January 15, 2025.

Institutions that do not adhere to the guidelines may face strict measures, including restrictions on admissions. The university emphasized that all institutions must take this directive seriously and ensure compliance to avoid disruptions to their academic operations.
