
Pune: In view of the Western Regional Meeting organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on February 22, 2025, the Pune Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for commuters traveling towards Hinjawadi, Wakad, Lonavala, and Mumbai.
Prominent leaders from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu are expected to attend the high-level meeting. To accommodate VIP convoys and ensure smooth traffic movement, Baner Road from University Chowk will experience restricted access and diversions.
Motorists traveling towards Hinjawadi, Wakad, Lonavala, and Mumbai are strongly advised to avoid Baner Road and instead opt for the alternative routes.
Traffic Diversions and Alternative Routes
1. Vehicles traveling from University Chowk towards Radha Chowk via Baner Road: Must take a left turn at Ganraj Chowk and proceed via either the Kia Showroom Underpass or Nanavare Underpass.
2. Vehicles traveling from the Mumbai-Bengaluru Bypass to Baner Road: Must take a left turn at Balewadi Toll Naka and proceed via High Street Road to reach their destination through Ganraj Chowk.
3. Vehicles traveling from Pune city towards Hinjawadi, Wakad, Lonavala, or Mumbai: Advised not to use Baner Road from University Chowk. Instead, they should: Take Pashan Road via Chandni Chowk, or Use Aundh Road from University Chowk.
Heavy Vehicles Prohibited on Key Routes
To prevent congestion and ensure the smooth movement of VIP convoys, the entry of all heavy and oversized vehicles will be prohibited from 12:01 AM to 12:00 Midnight on February 22, 2025, on the following routes:
University Chowk to Chandni Chowk (via Pashan Road)
University Chowk to Radha Chowk (via Baner Road)
University Chowk to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge (via Aundh Road)
