Pune: Winter has officially faded as temperatures in Pune continue to rise, with the mercury crossing 36°C on Tuesday (February 11). Residents are experiencing early summer-like conditions, as the heat that usually intensifies in March has already set in during February.
According to the India Meteorological Department, both maximum and minimum temperatures have been increasing consistently since mid-January. On Tuesday, Talegaon recorded the highest temperature at 37°C, followed closely by Koregaon Park and Rajgurunagar at 36.7°C.
For the past 15 days, areas like Koregaon Park, Wadgaon Sheri, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, and Shivajinagar have been reporting maximum temperatures above 35°C, causing intense heat throughout the day.
The past 24 hours have seen a 1 to 2-degree rise in temperatures across Pune and its surrounding districts. Mild fog has been observed in the early morning hours, but the sky remains clear, and the sun is strong throughout the day.
The current maximum temperature range in the city is between 34°C and 37°C, and the weather is expected to remain dry for the next two days, with no major changes in temperature.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast stable weather conditions, with dry and sunny days ahead. There will be no significant dip in temperatures, indicating that the heat will persist for the foreseeable future.
