Pune, 6th June 2025: Action has finally been taken in the case of mental harassment of a female doctor in the Pune Municipal Corporation's health department, and Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has issued an order banning BJP's Labour Alliance office Bearers Omkar Kadam and his colleague Akshay Kamble from entering the Municipal Corporation building and other offices.
Omkar Kadam had acted in a bully manner to get information about the work in the health department. A group of 10-15 people had gone to the office of the female officer, spoken in an incomprehensible language, filmed her, and harassed her. Due to this, the concerned female officer had complained to the then Municipal Commissioner. But no action was taken.
Finally, fed up with this harassment, the female officer complained to the State Women's Commission. There was a stir after the news about this was published. After that, the administration, which woke up, has taken action against Kadam and Kamble. The Women's Grievance Redressal Centre has taken cognizance of this incident, and this committee has recommended that these actions should be stopped.
Accordingly, Kadam and Kamble have been banned from entering the Pune Municipal Corporation building and other offices of the Municipal Corporation until further orders. Commissioner Ram has mentioned this in the order.
While Punekars are not getting health services, there has been a cold war between the officials in the Municipal Corporation's health department for the last several years. These officials are constantly providing information to outsiders and demanding their investigation, trying to sabotage the Municipal Corporation's plans, and not cooperating with each other, which is causing great harm to the people of Pune.
This cold war has brought disrepute to this department, but so far no Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, or Health Chief has succeeded in improving the working procedures here.
