Pune, 17 November 2025: The redevelopment of the Hadapsar railway terminal in Pune has reached its final stage, with nearly 90% of the work completed. Trial runs are already underway, and the upgraded terminal is expected to become fully operational soon. As part of the transition plan, train services will gradually shift from Pune Junction to the new terminal.
Starting January 26, 2026, two daily trains, the Hadapsar–Hazur Sahib Nanded Express and the Hadapsar–Harangul Special, will originate from and terminate at Hadapsar instead of Pune Junction. More train services are likely to move in the coming months to reduce the mounting pressure on Pune’s main station, which has been dealing with increasing passenger traffic.
According to officials, platform construction at the terminal is 95% complete, while the second foot-over bridge is 90% done. All lifts and escalators have been installed. The new station building, including ticket counters, waiting areas, and commercial spaces, is also 90% ready. Parking work is 55% complete, and the cycle stand has reached 80% progress.
A senior railway official said the upgraded terminal will act as a satellite hub to share the load of Pune Junction and improve operational efficiency across the region.
Under the new timetable, Train No. 17629/17630 Hadapsar–Hazur Sahib Nanded Express will depart Hadapsar at 21:50 hrs and reach at 04:35 hrs daily. Train No. 01487/01488 Hadapsar–Harangul Special will leave at 06:20 hrs and arrive at 20:45 hrs, with both services ending their operations at Hadapsar instead of Pune Junction.
The redevelopment marks a major shift in Pune’s rail network, aiming to streamline train movement and enhance passenger convenience for the rapidly growing city.
