Pune, 15th June 2026: A consignment of premium Kesar mangoes sold for a record ₹167 per kilogram at Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard, marking the highest price achieved by the variety in the last five years.
The mangoes were produced by farmer Jalinder Lokhande and brought for sale through the commission agency of M/s Tuljaram Pantharam Banwari Kachi. The fruits weighed between 300 and 600 grams each and were noted for their superior quality, attractive appearance, and uniform size.
Traders said the exceptional price was driven by strong demand for high-quality mangoes and the farmer’s careful management of the orchard, which resulted in an excellent harvest.
The consignment was purchased by trader Prakash Bhadkumbe at the record rate. Several traders and market representatives were present during the transaction.
Market officials said the arrival of quality mangoes has increased this season, and consumers continue to show strong preference for premium-grade fruit. As a result, select batches of high-quality Kesar mangoes are receiving record prices in the market.
