Pune, 19th May 2026: Police have detained three men in the Koregaon Park sexual assault case, allegedly raping a woman lawyer inside a car on the Koregaon Park-Mundhwa Road late Sunday night.
According to police officials, the victim had visited a pub in Koregaon Park on Sunday night, where she came in contact with the accused. After the pub shut down, the men allegedly offered to drop her home and persuaded her to travel with them in their vehicle.
Police said the accused later stopped the car at a secluded location on the Koregaon Park-Mundhwa stretch and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman. The victim further stated in her complaint that another individual was also called to the spot during the incident.
Soon after the complaint was filed, Koregaon Park Police launched an intensive investigation. Multiple police teams scanned CCTV footage from the pub, nearby roads, and surrounding areas to identify the suspects. Based on the footage and technical evidence, police traced and detained three accused involved in the crime.
The victim was sent for medical examination, while her statement was officially recorded by police. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway and efforts are being made to trace another suspect linked to the case.
Police officials stated that all detained accused are believed to be around 30 years of age. Further legal action is currently in process.
