Pune, 14 April 2026: A major healthcare project, the ‘Lata–Asha Mangeshkar Institute of Medical Sciences’, will soon be developed at Nandoshi near Pune.

The hospital, planned across 40 acres under the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation, will initially have a capacity of 1,000 beds and aims to provide multi-speciality charitable healthcare services.

The foundation stone ceremony is scheduled for April 16 and will be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and members of the Mangeshkar and Bhosle families are also expected to be present.

Following the recent demise of Asha Bhosle, the event format has been revised. Instead of a traditional foundation ceremony, the program will now be held as a ‘Sankalp and Tribute’ gathering to honour her legacy. The event will take place at the project site on Sinhagad Road at 5 pm, with a musical tribute scheduled earlier at 4 pm.

The tribute gathering will be held for invited attendees, who have been requested to wear white as a mark of respect. The ceremony will symbolically mark both the beginning of the hospital project and a homage to the contribution of the Mangeshkar sisters to Indian music.

Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar said, “Lata Didi and Asha Tai are immortal legends of Indian music. Establishing a hospital that reflects their legacy will be a meaningful tribute. The project will begin with 1,000 beds and will be expanded in phases into a 3,000-bed multi-speciality charitable hospital.”
