Pune: The legendary Bollywood music composer Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma, of the hit duo of yesteryears Laxmikant-Pyarelal, enthralled all at a Live In Concert at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch on Friday. The duo’s hit songs spanning four decades in Bollywood were performed by various artists at the concert.

The show was organised by the Rotary Club of Poona West Charity Trust and Sakal Media Group was the media partner of the event. Pyarelal (77) didn’t sit even once during the 4-hour show and performed on stage with the same energy throughout.

Recollecting the memories from decades back, Pyarelal recalled the time when he and Laxmikant Kudalkar, who passed away in 1998, got the news of getting their first Filmfare award and said “We worked late night and slept in the studio. Suddenly, C Ramchandra rushed in and said you have got the Filmfare Award. This was the very first moment of success which we can never forget.” Pyarelal was honoured by RJ Apurva with Puneri
Pagdi.

The event started with the title track of Satyam Shivam Sundaram, originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar, which was recreated by Mishtu Bardhan. Singers who performed include Bardhan, Shrikant, Ali Hussain, Madhura, Sampada. Most of the musicians and band members have worked with Pyarelal since 40 years.
