Pune, 27 March 2026: In a major step to strengthen law enforcement, the Maharashtra government has approved the establishment of five new police stations in Pune.
The new stations will come up in Manjri, Laxminagar, Narhe, Lohegaon and Kondhwa Budruk–Yeolewadi, according to a notification issued by the home department on March 25.
The notification also clearly outlines the jurisdiction of each police station to ensure better management of rapidly expanding urban areas. The Manjri Police Station will cover regions along the Mula-Mutha river, including Manjri Budruk and Shewalewadi, which currently fall under Hadapsar and Phursungi police limits.
The Laxminagar Police Station will handle key areas such as Yerawada, Shastrinagar, Sangamwadi and Kalyaninagar. Meanwhile, the Narhe Police Station will cater to growing residential zones around Navale Bridge, Vadgaon Khurd, Suncity and Ambegaon.
The Lohegaon Police Station will oversee the airport belt, including Dhanori and nearby developing neighbourhoods. The Kondhwa Budruk–Yeolewadi Police Station will cover a large stretch from Bopdev Ghat Machi to areas near Bharati Vidyapeeth, including Tanaji Malusare Road, Antulenagar, Trinity College and surrounding localities.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the new police stations are being set up to reduce the burden on existing units and improve policing efficiency. He added that better response time, stronger patrolling and improved coordination with control room systems will be key benefits of this expansion.
