Pune, 31st August 2026: The draft electoral roll prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise is set to be published today (August 31). Pune district election officials have urged voters to check their names and personal details as soon as the draft is released.
Pune District Collector and District Election Officer Jitendra Dudi appealed to citizens to carefully verify the draft roll and use the prescribed process to correct errors or raise objections within the stipulated period.
Once published, the draft electoral roll will be available on the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra website and the Election Commission’s voters’ portal. Voters can also check their entries through their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Printed copies will be available at recognised political party offices, tehsil offices and electoral registration offices.
Officials have particularly urged families to verify the entries of senior citizens, people who have shifted residence and voters whose enumeration forms could not be fully scrutinised during the SIR exercise.
Voters should check:
Name and spelling
Parents’ or spouse’s name
Age and date of birth
Gender and photograph
Address and EPIC number
Polling station details
Voters whose names are missing from the draft roll can apply for fresh registration using Form 6. Form 8 can be used to correct existing entries or obtain a replacement EPIC, while Form 7 can be submitted to raise an objection.
Claims and objections can be filed from August 31 to September 30. Hearings will continue until October 19, after which the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4.
Election officials have clarified that voters whose names appeared in the 2025 electoral roll but are missing from the draft should not panic.
They may have been categorised under Absent, Shifted, Deceased, Duplicate or Others (ASDDO) because their enumeration forms could not be collected during the revision exercise.
Across Maharashtra, enumeration forms of around 2.07 crore voters could not be obtained during the SIR exercise. Some of these voters may consequently not appear in the draft roll.
Officials have urged voters to check the draft promptly after its release and use the prescribed forms and official portals to rectify discrepancies or raise objections before the deadline.
