Nitin Gadkari Site Visit Cancelled: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, himself fell victim to Pune’s severe traffic congestion, a daily headache for the city’s residents. On Saturday, a visit was scheduled for him to inspect the proposed underground road between Shaniwar Wada and Swargate, aimed at easing Pune’s growing traffic problems.

Gadkari arrived at Shaniwar Wada as planned but got stuck in the morning rush-hour traffic while heading towards the next inspection point. Due to the dense traffic, his convoy could not move ahead. As a result, Gadkari had to cancel the on-site visit and instead held discussions with officials inside his car, reviewing the situation and the project details without leaving his vehicle.

Local MLA Hemant Rasane explained that this situation arose due to poor coordination between the police and the municipal corporation. The lack of proper planning led to the minister getting caught in traffic and ultimately cancelling the visit.

Gadkari has taken a positive stand on the proposed underground road project. Rasane confirmed that the minister has accepted the proposal and assured that he will soon conduct a meeting to make further decisions and push the project forward.
