Pune, 30 October 2025:In a surprising turn of events in the murder case of social activist Nakul Bhoir, Chinchwad Police have arrested his wife's lover. The incident took place on October 23, when Bhoir was discovered dead in his apartment at Manik Colony, Pimpri-Chinchwad, having been strangled. His wife, Chaitali Bhoir, was taken into custody the following day.
Nakul Ananda Bhoir was a prominent individual in local political and social arenas. He was linked with the Maratha Seva Sangh and Sambhaji Brigade, and was acknowledged as a proactive environmental advocate and rising political figure.
According to the police, Chaitali Bhoir, a 28-year-old with political ambitions, was engaged in an extramarital relationship with Sidharth Deepak Pawar, a 21-year-old resident of Link Road. This affair had put a strain on her marriage in recent months. Her husband, Nakul, reportedly questioned her loyalty and frequently confronted her about her excessive drinking and unpaid debts, leading to frequent domestic arguments.
On the evening of October 23, Nakul found out about his wife's infidelity and confronted her while Sidharth was present. The confrontation escalated into violence, during which Chaitali and Sidharth reportedly strangled Bhoir to death using a cloth. Following the incident, Sidharth escaped the location, whereas Chaitali turned herself in to the authorities.
Following additional investigation, Sidharth Pawar was arrested on Tuesday, confirming his role in the murder. The Chinchwad Police have lodged a case against both suspects and are continuing with the inquiry.
